ABOUT – Spotted Bear Ranch is an Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge in Northwest Montana. We operate on the South Fork of the Flathead River and its tributaries offering first-class fly fishing trips for native Westslope Cutthroat and Bull Trout. This is one of the only legal Bull Trout fisheries in the lower 48!!
Spotted Bear Ranch is seeking guides for the XXXX season for both our lodge and wilderness fishing operations.
GUIDES – Applicants should have prior guiding experience and a good knowledge of western trout fishing. Must be a team player, self-motivated, a good teacher, and know how to row. All applicants will need to have or be able to obtain a Montana Guide License.
LODGE – Trips depart daily from our lodge floating two sections of the South Fork of the Flathead. We also offer multiple walk/wade trips. This position would start in mid/June and run until early September.
WILDERNESS – Trips depart weekly from our trailhead and venture into the interior of the Bob Marshall Wilderness on horseback. The first two days of these trips are mostly riding with some walk/wade fishing in the evenings. Day three is a layover day with some incredible walk/wade fishing opportunities. Days 4-6 are spent float fishing back to the point of origin. This position would start in mid/late June and run until early September. (Stock experience is preferred, but not required)
ACCOMMODATIONS – Lodge guides are provided bunkhouse style housing. Wilderness guides are provided wall tent housing when not in the backcountry and should be prepared for wilderness camping when in the backcountry. All meals are provided for both positions.
COMPENSATION – Monthly salary paid every two weeks plus tips. Meals and housing are included.
TRAVEL – We recommend that you drive your own vehicle to the ranch. The closest town is Hungry Horse, MT via 53 miles of gravel road. If you choose to fly pick up can be arranged at Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) in Kalispell. Ranch vehicles are provided while working.

53 miles off the grid on the South Fork of the Flathead River beside the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

We are seeking a dynamic team member for the 2022 season to work as both a Server and Housekeeper with our team at Spotted Bear Ranch. We pride ourselves on offering the highest levels of lodging, recreation, food, and service to our guests.
Individuals who enjoy working in an intimate environment on a spectacular property are encouraged to apply. This position would last from mid-May and through mid-October.
HOUSEKEEPING: To provide daily/turnover cleaning services to guest cabins and main lodge facilities. Cabins are expected to be cleaned thoroughly between guest arrivals/departures by providing clean sheets, appropriate bathroom linens, and amenities, cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces, and ensuring that the cabin is in working order. Cabins are also to be cleaned daily during the guest’s stay. The
housekeeping staff is also responsible for laundry and maintaining the cleanliness of the lodge, trophy room, dining room, restrooms, and pro-shop.
SERVING: To provide attentive and hospitable meal service to guests for breakfast, cocktail hour, and dinner. Servers are expected to keep the dining room and trophy room orderly, clutter-free, set up before meals, and clean up after meals. Interactions with guests should always be friendly and helpful, and the server should be attentive to guest needs including refilling water glasses and other beverages, promptly removing finished plates, and ensuring that guests are satisfied with their meals.
Salary to be determined, room and board is included. Server/Housekeepers can also expect generous gratuities.
